Not a finger, Butterfiger, Naddafinga -- A Christmas Story Conundrum

Assss you should all be able to tell Christmas is my ABSOLUTE favorite time of year. Not just because of the presents, but because of the way the house is decorates and the way my whole family is just happy. My heart is warm and I am so so thankful for the many blessing that I have been showered with in this beautiful life. Here is my Christmas in pictures; we start on Christmas Eve:

ANDDD THE FOOD

Our Christmas Eve meal is almost as important as the Thanksgiving meal. We eat the same meals the my grandma prepared, and my great-grandma prepared, and so on. My mom makes it, but I help her with the preperartion.

BoBike (not sure of that spelling) : Oven toasted quarter sized balls of bread or pizza dough. We prepare those ahead of time, maybe a day or two before. Then Christmas Eve you rinse the balls in warm water and put them in a pot with a little bit of water and butte and let them steam and soften up. They soak up the butter. DELICIOUS. they are probably my favorite part of the meal.

Pierogies: everyone knows how to make these. DUH. Homemade.... yummmm

Then we have sauteed shrimp and lobstuh tails

And probably my favorite addition to the mix are the mushrooms in a roux.

We boil the mushrooms to soften them up, use any kind you would like. Then create a roux of flour, butter, onion and garlic. it isn't runny and add's incredible flavor to the mushrooms.

Water and a Chardonnay create the whole meal.

Rum & Coke. Such a Holdiday Drink

It is a tradition in our family to watch the 1980's version of A Christmas Carol, with George C. Scott staring as Scrooge. After a Christmas Carol comes A Christmas Story which we watch on TBS. All of this while we are sipping on rum & coke. Usually these movies are followed by a nap and then midnight mass, but thankfully we could forgo mass this year and I went straight to bed... all in anticipation of Santa Clause <3

Santa did come, even though my brother is 22 and I am 19, way past the age of believing, but he came with an abundance of presents for everyone in the family including my mom and dad. I have to say everyone was happy and more than thankfull for all the presents that were exchanged

I spent the rest of the morning hanging with my family and admiring some of my favorite decorations in the house.

Santa likes to casually bring up christmas presents so that he doesnt have to do it all at night when he is incredibly sleepy after the two adult children go to bed (usually around one in the morning). I like it, presents are beautiful and this way I get to look at them longer <3

It's really beginning to look a lot like christmas.

It's drinking time for this college girl. I love being home, I cannot get enough of it. Christmas eve is tomorrow <3 the best part about christmas is watching my family open the presents I bought them. I try and be creative for everyone, but it's getting more and more difficult as we all grow older. I couldn't appreciate my family anymore than I already do.

Hello fwends

Literally "stumbled upon" this little slice of wisdom today and I wanted to share it.

"Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so love the people who treat you right and forget the ones who don't and believe that everthing happens for a reason. Gooooood Day :) Very happy and staying positive. Shwazyyyy with Christina last night., I love spending my time with her. She makes me so incredibly happy with my life. I woke up with a hangoverr and had to wake up at 11 for work. I was only scheduled until 3 but it was crazy busy and hectic and I was doing such a fabulous job that I got to stay until 5. Making mad doughhhhh! I'm always so charming at work, I convinced 3 people to apply for credit cards, suckers. That means good for me. I drunk texted Jack last night and he's been texting me today. He's been really nice actually and we were having a civil conversation. Tom didn't talk to me yesterday and he hasn't really texted me today. I have just learned not to expect it. Trying to stay happy with the people around me. At work I'm extremely nice to people just so I can stay positive, I should learn to do that in regular life.

THIS IS MY BEST FRIEND

Doing all right on Sushi Tuesday..

Was having a wonderful day, doing good and healthy things, got 4 inches of my hair cut off, spent the day outside in the pool because thankfully I didn't have to work. the highlight of the day was going to California Rollin with Holl. Afterwords Nick asked me to go to the store with him, which is a bad idea beause he is honestly always a dick to me and I dunno it kind of brought me down from the awesome time I had with Holley. How do you prevent the sad thoughts from coming in and taking over. I am surrounding myself with people who make my life enjoyable (My mom in the pool and Holley for dinner) and then suddenly someone comes in for a couple moments of the day and de-rails all my happy feelings. All I can think about is how Tom hasn't texted me all day. I need to learn not too expect it. I said it before and I'll say it again it's not worth waiting for someone who isn't waiting for you. I need to learn not to depend on anyone but myself and those who are going to treat me wonderfully for my own happiness. No use dwelling on the past when it clearly didn't work out.

Well. Last night Nick took me to finally see Harry Potter, it was - as expected- incredible and now I am in the process of re-reading all the books. I hope to be done with them all by the end of the summer. I'm out for now, Christina is coming over so that I can drown myself in a Vodka-Cranberry. meow

I'm alive, I just hope I'm not sleeping..

Helloo. Stayed at Holley's last night, got to snuggle up with her and spend some quality happy time with my best friend. When I came home in the morning I had to quicly shower and get ready to get on the road with Christina Marie so we could go shopping during. We got a little lost on the way but we made it to a store called the Glue Facroty to shop for some new Vera Bradley items. On our way out we talked to the store owner about our upcoming trip to Disney that  I still need to plan :p. We visted the mall and then went and picked up white T-Shirts and dye and came back here and tye dyed shirts in the bright sun. It was so much fun but my hands are completely stained! As of right now I am sitting in the living room watching who wants to be a millionaire, about to watch the season premire of HELLS KITCHEN! Which is my favorite show I love me some Chef Gordon Ramsy. At 10:00 tonight will finally be my chance to see the last Harry Potter movie, Nick is taking me on a date-- it may be awkward honestly it doesn't mean anything to me. But it's a free movie. Dont judge me :) Gatta do what you gatta do ;)
